Interstate Highways

I-26, the principle east-west corridor of South Carolina, bisects Newberry County and passes within four miles of the City of Newberry. I-85 intersects I-26 55 miles west of Newberry, and I-385 to Greenville branches at Clinton, just 21 miles west. I-26 intersects both I-20 and I-77 at Columbia, 38 miles east. I-95 may be reached about 93 miles east of Newberry.

US Highways

US 76 runs parallel to I-26 and passes through the towns of Little Mountain, Prosperity, Newberry, Jalapa and Kinards. US 176 also runs parallel to I-26 before veering north toward Spartanburg. It passes 7 miles east of the City of Newberry and connects the towns of Pomaria and Whitmire.

SC Highways

The South Carolina Highway system forms a network of roadways connecting Newberry to its seven neighboring counties. South Carolina Highways serving Newberry County include: Hwy 34, Hwy 121, Hwy 219, Hwy 39, Hwy 56, Hwy 66, Hwy 395, Hwy 391, Hwy 72 and Hwy 202.

Airports

Established in 1946, the Newberry Municipal Airport has a 3,500-foot paved and lighted runway and a 1,700-foot unlighted sod runway.

The nearest commercial airport is the Columbia Metropolitan, located 36.5 miles east of Newberry. It is served by the following Airlines: Atlantic Southeast, Continental, COMAIR, Delta, Midway Corporate, United Express and US Airways.

Port Access

The nearest port facility is the Port of Charleston, located 152 miles east on I-26.
